BIOGRAPHY
High Voltage is the perfect wedding and party band for those with a passion for rock who are looking for a band with a personality. High Voltage comes as a 3 or 4-piece for versatility. Their full lineup is lead vocals with electric guitar, bass with backing vocals, lead guitar with backing vocals, and drums with backing vocals. The band has been bringing rock, pop, and soul favourites to weddings and events across the country and internationally since 2016. After being spotted at a wedding in Scotland, the band was booked to be flown out to France with clients describing them as, “excellent, and definitely one of the highlights of the day!!”
High Voltage makes sure their clients are fully satisfied by following all instructions carefully, while also making sure they having as much fun as possible, and take their audience and clients with them on their journey. The band members are all close friends, so you can count on great stage chemistry, and synchronicity with every performance. With strong lead vocals, and lead guitar as either the 3 or 4-piece the band will be spot on with their playing, solos, and lyrics with every song, so their full dancefloors can really embrace every rocky moment throughout.
High Voltage is fronted by the fantastic, Ben, who is a full-time musician. Ben was given a guitar for his sixth birthday and became enamored with it, and really hasn’t stopped practicing with it ever since. He’s now an accomplished session guitarist, bassist, and vocalist, and creates music for TV, film, and podcasts. Ben studied his undergraduate degree in Popular Music Performance at the prestigious British Institute for Modern Music in London and has also completed a master’s in Music and Sonic Media at the University of Sussex. Ben brings his professionalism and passion for music to every gig, and on top of that, Ben's relaxed and can-do attitude will put you and your guests at ease from the very first interaction.
-
Ben is supported by Ewan on bass and backing vocals, Paolo on lead guitar and backing vocals, and Mark on drums and backing vocals. All members of the band are full-time working musicians with exceptional skill and talent. Collectively the band members have all studied at the renowned British Institute for Modern Music, and the University of Sussex. The band is proud to be part of a high-calibre collective of musicians that are some of the most in-demand talent in the UK music industry. So you can book with total peace of mind and know that High Voltage will deliver a top-notch performance every time.
All band members have been immersed in music and performance from a young age, being supported by their families to explore their chosen musical vocations, and winning talent competitions in the process. The band members have all worked hard to be able to add big names to their CVs, such as performing with or supporting Emeli Sande, Bastille, Tinie Tempah, Olly Murs, Royal Blood, George Ezra, Fightstar, and Dan Gillespie Sells (The Feeling) to name a few; and they’ve performed at more venues and festivals than they can remember, including, New Quay Beach Break Festival, Glastonbury, Notting Hill Carnival, V-Dub Festival, SXSW Festival, Soulstice Festival, O2 Shepherds Bush, The Roundhouse, Dublin Castle, 100 Club, The Jazz Cafe, Ronnie Scotts, Metropolis Studios, Islington O2, Crucible Theatre, and Bush Hall; their CVs are also decorated with accomplishments such as being part of the original production of ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’, on the radio, on the news, in TV interviews, in live performances on the BBC, in the newspapers, and on podcast interviews. They really have worked hard at their craft, and it shows with every note they hit.
Ben leads the way in High Voltage as he rocks out the band's repertoire, from artists such as Jet, The Beatles, to The Kings Of Leon. The band has a vast repertoire specialising in lots of different styles of rock, but are also well-versed in pop, retro pop, and soul because as much as rock is where their heart lies, they know all too well that a bit of Stevie Wonder or some Bruno Mars really helps to create a balanced set.
High Voltage welcomes you to tailor the setlist for your big day. For a standard 2x60mins or 3x40mins performance you can select up to 32 songs from the band’s 100+ song repertoire, and the band will endeavour to accommodate all of your requests, given a month’s notice. For short notice bookings, you are still very welcome to send over your suggestions, and as always, the band will do their utmost to accommodate as many requests as possible. High Voltage is also very happy to learn an ‘off the menu’ song request for you, for example, a first dance or your favourite song.
Upon booking, you will have a dedicated band manager as your point of contact to ensure the band is 100% on the same page as you well in advance of your event. Having this point of contact means you can count on excellent, fast, friendly, and warm communication at all times. It also means that come the big day every single crease will be ironed out and it will mean smooth sailing for both client and band alike.
All in all, the High Voltage band members are a very friendly and flexible bunch and take great pride in providing excellent musicianship and creating a really fun atmosphere wherever they go. The band has a big long list of songs spanning different genres and decades for you to pick from and can play complimentary playlist music (which you are welcome to tailor) before, in-between, and after live sets until curfew. The band can be on-site for up to 7 hours, or until midnight as standard. They are happy to accommodate early arrivals before 5pm and late stays after midnight if needed too. The band is also able to provide a band member DJ-ing should you wish to have a live DJ before, between, or after band sets. The band brings a full PA and lighting rig with them wherever they go, so all you need to do is book the band and you can tick the entertainment off your to-do list in one fell swoop because High Voltage will have you covered.
If you've any questions about the band and what they offer please don't hesitate, we’ll be more than happy to help.
